Client / Colleague -
As an interior designer, I have had the unique pleasure of working with Ross from both ends of the spectrum -- both as a client and a colleague.

Architecture and design come very naturally to him. He has a fantastic eye and is extremely thorough and precise. Ross is very thoughtful in design and not afraid to push the envelope when need be.

I appreciate his candidness from an aesthetic standpoint. We develop a marvelous synergy working together on not only my personal home, but the homes of my clients. I trust him implicitly. It is always a joy collaborating with him.

It has been absolutely outstanding seeing firsthand just how much of a design powerhouse you truly are. Pulling together exceptional designs is one thing, however, the appreciation and enthusiasm that you bring to your design story and presentation to leave an impact and create intrigue for those in the room has been truly amazing to witness. So very impressed how you carefully curate your designs to not only be present with current trends or even future trends but also how you navigate through the kit of parts of design in understanding other discipline's impact on the design, utilities, structural, etc.

Your client interactions and presentations have been impressive as you are willing to pivot to meet the client needs but at the same time give solutions that can blend your design with the client needs so we don't lose sight of our design strategy. Thank you for the opportunity to build a powerful, collaborative, team driven work ethic between us. You continue to want to improve your strategies, your designs, and your teams around you.

The designs that you foster are carefully crafted and exceptionally presented from a storytelling perspective to ensure that not only are the ideas clear, they have energy in the language/verbalization. This skill is so impactful, as it moves the threshold of just designing, to designing with a purpose and excitement. Thank you, Ross, for proving that remote collaboration is effective and just as available as in office.

Harrison Food Bank would like to thank Ross Holden for generously sharing his talent, compassion, and commitment by volunteering his services as an architect to draw plans for the renovation of our 4,800 square foot building. This allows for ADA compliant entrances and bathrooms as well as ramps for the disabled. Updating our kitchen and bathrooms make the building efficient and safe for food prep and storage as well as easily accessible to the public. He also created and designed our non-profit website which helps promote and engage our community. Ross was always a phone call away and took the time out of his busy schedule to “pay it forward” to help his home town and the families in need by donating his services.

Moreover, his appreciation of luxurious design elements bring it all together. Working with Ross is always an enjoyable and reliable endeavor that has resulted in repeated successful showroom creations.

Senior Manager -
Ross is a solid foundation for every team he is on. He is a gifted designer, architect and human. I’m proud to be associated with him and his work. He has managed to become an absolutely critical key player on the team in a remarkably short period of time. He can be relied upon to either make the tough judgement call in a pinch, or go to the right persons to make sure it gets made in a timely fashion. He has a knack for perceiving the nuances of complex situations, be they design, code, material or people related, and communicating them clearly and concisely on the way to proposing solid, creative solutions. He's been a real dream to work with.

Firm Owner -
Ross Holden is a very talented young professional who I recommend without reservation. Ross was employed as an intern architect with our firm for four summers. During that time, he worked on a variety of projects ranging from single family homes, including a timber-framed cottage, and institutional work, such as a master plan proposal for a historic church. His work included design and construction documentation and produced numerous detailed drawings and conceptual 3D illustrations.

Ross consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to work individually and as part of a team. He collaborated well within the firm, with our clients, manufacturer representatives, and builders. His thoughtful approach to design problems showed a real interest and intuition in understanding the principals that we rely on when designing each of our projects. Furthermore, his 3D modeling, rendering, and web skills are well developed, demonstrating a superior understanding of the tools we use every day.

Ross was extremely reliable as a member of our firm and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. We all appreciated his dry Maine sense of humor and his love of our office’s golden retriever.

I unequivocally recommend Ross as an architect. We are house flippers who had purchased a large lake house on Sebago Lake that had massive potential but equally massive issues with the current layout and structural design. The key to this successful project was his understanding of our vision for the house as well as his creativity to solve layout issues. His solutions for layout of the house were spectacular and the house was transformed into a spectacular lake side dream home that sold immediately once it hit the market. His design of a new staircase as well as his window placement which maximized the lake views transformed the house. We love an architect that can listen, interpret, create and be responsive, Ross is all of those things.

Firm Owner / Professor -
Having taught at the University for more than twenty years, I rank Ross among the brightest of the students I have encountered. Our studio project required the design of a complex building in downtown Philadelphia. Ross organized the project clearly and creatively. His skills were evidenced conceptually and through the clear presentation of his ideas. His work was excellent and he received an A in the course.

I have also had the opportunity to observe Ross’s growth and high level of performance at Philadelphia University where he has excelled. His participation in the Study Abroad program in Copenhagen broadened his skills and appreciation of design. His subsequent course work has exposed him to complex design issues of sustainability and urban design. Ross works well with others, and is proficient in both graphic and verbal communication.

I believe Ross will be a great asset to the architectural profession. I look forward to watching his progress as he continues his professional development.
